Everest Base Camp Trekking is the most popular and iconic trekking trail in the Everest Region that takes you through the beautiful Khumbhu valley, spectacular Everest High Passes and stunning Sherpa Villages leading you towards the Base camp of the Mighty Everest.  The EBC trek provides you an unique opportunity to experience the heritage and culture of the indigenous mountain people, Sherpas.  

The trek is specially designed to get you to the base camp of the world highest mountain, Mt. Everest while the journey leads you across the numerous villages, Mountain Rivers, unique wildlife and unlimited views of the lofty snowy mountains peaks along the way, and they only get higher and more magnificent as you go.

The trek starts from the ancient city of Kathmandu as you take a flight to Lukla, a small mountain air-strip. As the trek starts, the trail follows a Dudh-koshi river and leads you to Namche Bazaar, a busy junction for the trekkers as it has several internet cafes, few restaurants & bakeries and a museum. From here you’ll trek for days and pass several villages before reaching the Everest Base Camp. The trek continues and takes you to the Kalapatthar, the highest point of the trek (5545m). From here, you’ll have superb views of the mighty Everest. The following days, we retrace all the way down to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 1 - Arrival Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), our representative will meet and welcome the guest. Please note that guest(s) should look the signage with their name once they come out of Arrival Terminal Hall. 

Guest will be transferred to the hotel. our representative will escort the guest up to hotel and will help in check in process at the hotel.

Welcome drinks and key distribution

Day 2 - In Kathmandu-half day tour of Kathmandu City.

After breakfast there will be a trek briefing by our represantative let you know the programme for the next few days. Making sure everyone is properly equipped for the trek and to give you an idea of what to expect on a day to day basis.

Walking tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square through the old city market (Ason)

Kathmandu Durbar Square (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

Walking of Kathmandu Durbar Square, with its old temples and palaces, epitomizes the religious and cultural life of the people. Here, the kings of Nepal are crowned and solemnized.  Interesting things for visitors to see are Taleju temple, gigantic figure of Kalbhairav (the god of destruction), Basantapur Durbar, and Temple of Kumari (living goddess)

Patan Durbar Square

Patan Durbar Square situated in the center of Patan city, also known as Lalitpur. Patan Square and its surroundings is good specimen of ancient Newari architecture. There are three main courtyards in the palace: Mul Chowk, Sundari Chowk and Keshav Narayan Chowk. Mul Chowk, the oldest one, is at the centre of Patan square. Several multi-sized and multi-styled temples occupy the western part of the complex. Main among these is Krishna Temple, Bhimsen Temple and the Golden Temple of Hiranya Varna. Krishna Mandir, which is devoted to Lord Krishna, is one of the best examples of stone architecture in Nepal. Scenes from Mahabharata and Ramayana (holy Hindu epics) are carved on the walls of the Krishna Mandir.

Day 3 - Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m) and trek to Phakding

Fly from Katmandu to Lukla (2840m)- approx 35 minutes flight & trek to Phakding.(2610m)- approx 3 hrs walk

 

Leave hotel after Breakfast. Early morning depart from Kathmandu for a 35 minute flight to Lukla. There are spectacular mountain views all the way taking in Gauri Three Star Hotel (7145 m), Melungtse (7181) and Numbur (6955 m). We arrive in Lukla and meet our Sherpa crew. Depending on flight arrival time there may be an opportunity to visit the newly completed Lukla monastery and its attached thanka painting school. We will take lunch in Lukla, and then descend northwest to the village of Choplung (2700 m) in the Dudh Koshi valley. Following the river's course, we pass through the villages of Ghat and reach the small village of Phakding. About 3 hours walk

Day 4 - Trek from Phakding to Namche (3440m)

Trek from Phakding to Namche (3440m) - 6hrs.

After breakfast we follow the bank of the Dudh Koshi river, cross over and walk on to Mondzo. We enter the Sagarmatha National Park, then on crossing a suspension bridge, pass Jorsalle village and walk along the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi confluence. A steep ascent brings us to the principal Sherpa village of Namche Bazar (3440m). During the ascent, we should have views of Everest and Lhotse.

Day 5 - Acclimatization day at Namche

Acclimatization day at Namche and day hike around Namche & Everest View Hotel (3880m)- approx 3 hrs walk

Time to explore the village and also to visit the museum housed in the national park head quarters. There is  veryinteresting display on Sherpa traditional life and the flora and fauna in the park. There is Everest view point above army camp, its views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and other peaks of the area. There is also time to visit Namche local market, especially gather from all around this villager people to shopping their daily life necessity things on every Saturday. There is possible to visit Everest View hotel as option.

Day 6 - Trek from Namche to Tengboche

Trek from Namche to Tengboche (3867m) – Approx 6 hrs walk

Morning, walk through Khumjung village and down the valley, passing many prayer walls. Soon we reach the main Namche/Tengboche trail and descend gradually through Trashinga village, then more steeply to Phunki, a small settlement. It’s upwards once more, through forests and past prayer walls to Tengboche, arguably one of the finest viewpoints in the Himalayas. Thyangboche Monastery was seriously damaged by fire in 1989 but has since been rebuilt and there will be time to visit both the monastery and the museum. The original gompa at Thyangboche was built in 1916 but was destroyed by an earthquake in 1934. Disaster struck again, as the replacement building was burnt to the ground in 1989. The new monastery was finished in 1994 and has a library and cultural centre plus a school which educates about 30 young monks.  We reach our teahouse at Thyangboche. Excursion to Thyangboche Monanastery and Eco center.

Day 7 - Trek from Tyangboche to Dingboche (4110m)

Trek from Tyangboche to Dingboche (4110m) - Approx 7 hrs walk

From Thyangboche, we descend through meadows and rhododendron forest, past the Buddhist nunnery at Deboche, to the Imja Khola. Then up along the north bank of the river, with spectacular views of Ama Dablam, to a teahouse at Orsho via Pangboche (3860m). there is chance to visit Pangboche monastery. Crossing the confluence of the Khumbu and Imja Khola we continue gentle uphill walk to Dingboche (4410m). Approximately 7 hours walk.

Day 8 - Acclimatisation day at Dingboche

Trek from Thayangboche to Dingboche (4110m) – Approx 5 hrs walk

A day for acclimatization and exploring: you can do a day’s walk up the Imja Khola valley through Bibre at 5060m to the yak huts at Chukhung. Here are good views of the east face of Ama Dablam and the Lhotse-Nuptse wall. Or you can walk north, up along the valley side to the ruined Nangkartshang Gompa, or continue up to nearby Nangkartshang Peak with its fantastic views. Approximately 5 hours walk

Day 9 - Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4110m)

We are now well above the treeline and our walking today brings us to Dusa from where we descend to a stream at 4580m. Immediately above we reach the teahouse of Dughla and continue to a ridge, which has several memorials to Sherpas killed on expeditions to Everest. Continue along the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, with views of Kala Patthar and Pumori to reach Lobuche at 4930m. About 6 hours walk.

Day 10 - Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorakshep

Trek from Everest Base Camp to GorakSherp – Approx 9 hrs walk

This morning we will have an early start and head up to Everest Base Camp itself. Our trek starts with a gentle ascent initially which later develops into a steeper ascent of about half an hour. A descent back down then brings us to Gorak Shep (5150m) where we will check into our lodge. The trail splits at this stage and goes to the small peak of Kala Patthar one way and Everest Base Camp in the other. We will take the Base Camp route and head up to take a look. There may be the possibility to meet climbers and their crew at the camp on their way up the mountain. Once we have explored the Base Camp and seen all it has to offer we will retrace our steps back to Gorak Shep where we will spend the night.

Day 11 - Trek from Gorakshep to Kalapattar to Pheriche

Trek from Gorakshep to Kalapattar (5545m) to Pheriche (4280m) - Approx 8 hrs walk

Taking the other route today we have a steep ascent which brings us to the top of Kala Patthar (5545m). From here, on a clear day, we will have the opportunity to see the breath taking views of the surrounding mountain peaks; Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kangtega, Thamserku, Tawache, Pumori Gyachung Kang plus Khumbu Ice fall and Glacier. After taking in this fabulous sight we will head back down again back to Gorak Shep and on to Pheriche for our overnight stay.

Day 12 - Trek from Pheriche to Tyangboche (3790m)

Trek from Pheriche to Tyangboche (3790m)- approx 6 hrs walk

The trail is mostly downhill as we travel to Pangboche. Pangboche is the highest year-round settlement in the upper Khumbu valley. When we reach here we have the chance to visit the Pangboche monastery, the oldest monastery of the region. After lunch we take the high trail to Phortse with spectacular views over Tengboche and Ama Dablam to Thyangboche (3810m). Approximately 6hrs walk.

Day 13 - Trek from Tyangboche to Monzo (2840m)-

Retrace same trail to Kyanjuma and returning to Namche via a different track to the one we took up, The  trail then descends to join the main trail to Namche Bazaar with spectacular view of Amadablam, Khangtega etc. We follow the contours of the valley high above the river walk below, taking a little more time to explore Namche, we then head down to Jorsale and exit the Sagarmatha National Park, continuing along the valley to the small settlement of Monzo, where we spend the night.

Day 14 - Trek from Monzo to Lukla (2840m)

We leave the Sagarmatha National Park and continue our descent along the banks of the Dudh Kosi, before making a final ascent to reach the Lukla plateau by mid afternoon. En route we may make an optional excursion to a small monastery above the river near the ghat. About 5 hours walk.

Day 15 - Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu

Your Luggage will be transferred to Lukla airport early in the morning by our trekking crew. After breakfast at the lodge, you will walk to Lukla airport for flight back to Kathmandu. The flight will be approx. 35 minutes. After arriving at Kathmandu domestic airport, you will be picked up and transferred to the hotel. 

The rest of the day is free to explore this wonderful city; shopping for souvenirs, trying out the various restaurants  or simply relaxing.

Morning sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath Temple & Boudhanath stupa

Pashupatinath Temple (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

Pashupatinath Temple is the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world, lies 5 km east of the city center. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred linga, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva. Chronicles indicate the temple’s existence prior to 400 AD. Devotees can he seen taking ritual dips in the holy Bagmati river flowing beside the temple.

 

Boudhanath (Little Tibet) – UNESCO World Heritage Site

Boudha is among the largest Stupas in south Asia. It has become the focal point of Buddhism in Nepal. The white mound looms thirty – six meters overhead. The Stupa is located on the ancient trade route to China. Tibetan merchants rested and offered prayers here.

Afternoon transfer to Bhaktapur & visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Bhaktapur is known as the open ‘open museum’ and a living heritage. Bhaktapur means the city of the devotees. Bhaktapur Durbar Square contains countless temples and architectural showpieces. The Lion Gate, Nyatapola temple, Bhairavnath, Dattatreya, the statue of King Bhupatindra Malla, the picture Gallery, the golden Gate, the 55 Windows Palace, and the Batsala Temple etc are the primary attraction of this Square. The Lion Gate adorned with stone figures of Hanuman, Bhairav and Narasingh Narayan was built during the reign of King Bhupatindra Malla. The golden Gate built by King Ranjit Malla is an entrance to the main courtyard and the palace of 55 windows which is the most beautiful carved specimens. You can also see the Picture Gallery which includes paintings of Hindu and Buddhist schools of Tantrism.
